Student Services

Child Find
The Office of Student Services will comply with the federal mandate under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA) and the New Jersey Administration Code 6A:14 (NJAC 6A:14) to locate all students with disabilities between the ages of three and twenty-one who reside in the East Windsor Regional School District in order to provide a free, appropriate public education.

Children identified as potentially disabled are referred to the Child Study Team for a determination of eligibility.  When a student is referred, a meeting is held with the CST, teacher, and parents to determine whether an evaluation will be conducted.  If the student meets eligibility andcriteria and is in need of special education and/or related services, the district provides assistance based upon specific needs described in the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).  Parent consent and participation is required.

You have the right to make a request for a Child Study Team evaluation for consideration of special education and related services.  Requests must be in writing and directed to tthe Director of Student Services, East Windsor Regional School District, 25A Leshin Lane, Hightstown, NJ, 08520.

ADA/504 Accommodations
For students with disabilities for whom special education is not required for accommodations are needed, a "504 Accommodation Plan" can be developed by the 504 committee.  Additional information may be obtained by contacting the School Principal or Director of Student Services at 443-7717, ext. 2010.
