HIGHTSTOWN HIGH SCHOOL DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today is  DAY C,  WEDNESDAY,   October 18,  2017

 

Thursday 19th - Tuesday 24th -- Any Sophomore or Junior student who is interested in registering for Vocational School or Career Prep can apply during lunch. A school counselor will be in Cafe R during lunch periods to help students apply for the upcoming year and to answer any questions you may have about the programs. Apply early since spots will fill up.

NHS tutoring will be held in the library from 2:15-3:45.  Tuesdays and every other Thursday you can get help with math, science, and business. On Wednesdays and Fridays you can get help with English, languages, and social studies. (Ms. Rice)

Chartwells is now serving soup at the salad bar. Check out the different soup options every day.

Letters of admittance to the Science National Honor Society are now available for pick up in room 120. (Ms. Kuzora)

There will be a meeting for anyone interested in the ice hockey team, Thurs. 10/19 @ 2:30 in room 402. (Mrs. Wolf)

The girls’ basketball team will be holding a signup meeting this Thursday right after school in the cafeteria. All players interested in trying out must attend. (Mrs. Wolf)

Want to join the Ram Page, the official newspaper of HHS? Come to our meeting  after school in room 141 TODAY New writers welcome. No experience necessary. (Mr. Dawson)

The weight room will be open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. (Mr. Russo)

The Red Cross will be meeting after school TODAY at 2:30p in Cafe R. (Mrs. D'Alessandro)

If you were unable to attend the Math League Intro Meeting on Tuesday, see Mr. McCafferty in room 103 or Mrs. Montgomery in room 114.

The junior class will be selling blue and white cow bells after school today through Friday in room 303. The cost is 1 for $3 or 2 for $5.
 
Congratulations to the girls’ tennis team for becoming the central New Jersey group 3 champions for the second year in a row. Go rams.

There will be the first South Asian club meeting today at 2:30pm in the Cafe. (Mr. Hernandez) 

All members of the OAmbassadors Club should attend our next meeting this Thursday Oct.19th. A special guest from WEDay will be joining us to share her amazing service program. You won’t want to miss this!!! See you at  2:30 in room 205. (Mrs. ALexander)

Students and Staff:  Lap Swimming and Water Jogging will be Oct. 17 to Nov. 7 on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 2:15-3:45. Students must have a signed permission slip in order to participate, which are located outside the pool doors. (Mrs. O’Connor)

Free sports physicals will be held on Friday October 27th. Appointments must be made in person with Mrs. Thomas in the nurses’ office by October 20th. You must first register on FamilyID and, when making the appointment, you must hand in the sports physical form with the first 2 pages completed. If you go to your own doctor, those forms are due by the 27th.

UPCOMING COLLEGE VISITS   Be sure to register in Naviance prior to the visit, and check in with your teacher before going to Guidance at the correct time.
