  DAY D,   THURSDAY,    April 19,  2018

Students may now access the Parent Portal to select their courses for the 2018-19 school year.

On Friday, April 20th,  all students scheduled to take the PARCC ELA test will report to their PARCC testing room at 1:45 PM. Seniors go to the Auditorium, non-testing students to the cafeteria.  Some Room Changes -- All students assigned to room 502 for ELA PARCC testing will now go to room 504 and those assigned to room 826 will go to room 610.  Students may use their own headphones for the PARCC ELA test. Therefore, students must bring the headphones that they intend to use during testing to Friday's final runthrough. Headphones which are permitted include: *Corded earbuds  *Corded earphones other than Beats or Beat Types.   *Corded Earphones with a microphone built into the actual wire or cord .      The following types of headphones are NOT Permitted:  * Beats or "Beat Type" headphones whether they are corded or not corded.  * Earphones with a separate microphone that projects out from the headset on a stalk.  * Wireless earphones

ASVAB Test scores are in.  You can pick up your scores from your counselor.  (Mr. Ross)

Attention all fall sports athletes, FamilyID is open for the 2018 fall sports tryouts.  Please have your parents register you by June 8th so the coaches can add you to their list.  The free physical date with the school doctor will be announced soon. (Mr. Peto)

Any senior that will be attending Mercer County Community College in the fall, please see Mrs. Turchin in the Counseling Office to make an appointment for scheduling. (Mrs. Turchin)

Senior Athletic Commitment Day for seniors that have informed a college coach you will be attending their college next year, will take place on May 2nd by appointment.  The commitment announcements will take place between 9:00am and 11:00am in the Athletic Office that day.  Please stop by the Athletic Office no later than April 27th to schedule a time for May 2nd. 

Attention Freshmen : Counselors are still meeting with students to review course planning for next school year.  If you have not met with your counselor, or have not scheduled an appointment yet with your counselor, please make sure to do so as soon as possible in the counseling office. If you are interested in joining the HHS Marching Band next year, please see Mr. Halat or Ms. O'Dea for sign up forms in the Band Room office. (Mr. Halat)

Anyone interested in becoming a Lifeguard please see Mrs. O'Connor in the pool office for an information packet.  The deposit is due April 20th and the course will start April 26th.

The last Coffee House of the year will take place in the cafeteria this Friday, April 20th, beginning at 7pm.  Come check out all of the talented performers. Admission is $5. (Mr. Ernst)

The Biology Student Scholar's Club will meet after-school on April 23rd in room 120 to design a bottle ecosystem. All are welcome. (Ms. Kuzora)

West Windsor High School South will be hosting an onsite SAT practice test on Saturday, 4/21/18 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Students should arrive no later than 8:45 to sign in. Students should bring (2) #2 pencils, a calculator, water, and snack as well as a fully charged smartphone or tablet. This practice test is sponsored by the West Windsor High School South PTA. A $6.00 fee will be collected at check-in. Students will leave with their scores if they bring a fully charged smartphone or tablet to use after the completion of the test for scoring. In order for the scoring to work properly, students MUST be registered by Wednesday, April 18th.  To register, please visit http://kaplan.formstack.com/forms/satptwwhss. (If you have more than 1 student taking the practice test, please use a unique email for each student.)

On Saturday, May 19th, Attitudes in Reverse is hosting a Walk/Run for Air at Mercer County Park from 8am to 12:30 pm. Attitudes in Reverse is a non-profit organization starting conversations about good mental health and how dogs improve our lives! You can register as a participant or volunteer! For more information, come down to Guidance! (Mrs. Daly) 

April is National Poetry Month. Calling all poets!  Thursday, April 26 is Poem In Your Pocket Day.  Stop by the library to find a poem for your pocket.  Also on Thursday will be a special poetry event from 4-6pm in the library.  Bring a poem to read or simply have a listen. Hope to see you there. (Mrs. Gazaleh)
