Reconfiguring the Elementary Schools for 2018 2019 Information

Beginning with the 2018-19 school year, the four elementary schools will be reconfigured into two grades K-2 schools and two grades 3-5 schools.

EMK and PLD will become partner schools, with EMK serving all K-2 students and PLD all students in grades 3-5. WCB and GNR will become partner schools with WCB serving all K-2 students and GNR all students in grades 3-5.

There will be no redrawing of sending school borders. Therefore, everyone who would have attended EMK or PLD will stay within those schools and everyone in the WCB or GNR neighborhoods will remain in those partner schools. With a very small number of possible exceptions, all students will attend their home school regardless of the programs and services they receive.

The transition process will be complex and requires careful planning and coordination. This link takes you to a presentation sharing background and relevant information

Our work will start over the summer and beginning very early next year we will hold multiple parent meetings and solicit parent feedback to help make the process smooth for everyone involved.
